Our client, a leading Midwest provider of electro-mechanical and wind generator repair services, is seeking a Director of Operations to lead critical operations, process improvements, and overall success. The position will report directly to the President/Owner and will serve on the executive leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide leadership to all company operations, including shop operations, field service, new equipment distribution, wind services, and customer service.
  • Profit and loss responsibility
  • Responsible for professional and team strategic continuous improvement goals
  • Full responsibility for productivity and teamwork among customer service, technicians, and division managers.
  • Labor negotiations with the bargaining unit along with the HR manager & President
  • Safety and Sustainability Program Management & environmental compliance
  • Purchasing & Inventory management
  • Implementing Lean manufacturing techniques & continuous productivity improvement.
  • Oversight of Opportunities for Improvement initiatives (OFI’s)
  • Financial budgeting, goals setting, and performance in conjunction with the Company leadership.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Operations Management, Business or related Technical degree
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize projects by delegating appropriately
  • 7 years of combined experience in general management or operations in an industrial services business
  • Background experience with motor and/or wind generator repair and application considered a plus
  • MBA and Lean Certification a plus
