SUMMARY

This position is responsible for lead generation and sales of temporary power and power distribution equipment, while providing excellent customer service and maximizing profits.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs sales calls in person, over the phone and via e-mail
  • Develops a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face cold calling, direct mail activities and networking
  • Manages selling activities to optimize and sustain sales performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction
  • Prepares action plans to identify specific targets and increase market share
  • Prepares presentations, proposals and sales quotes/contracts
  • Works with customers to resolve problems and provide solutions
  • Seeks and continuously develops knowledge and information about competitor activity, pricing and tactics, and communicates this to relevant company staff
  • Maximizes all opportunities in the process of closing a sale resulting in increased market share
  • Responsible for profit & loss of branch rental department
  • Visit customer job sites as needed for sales/estimating/customer service purposes
  • Provide recommendations and develop strategies on how to improve quality and quantity of services provided
  • Provide estimates on equipment sizing required to meet power needs
  • Work with sales support & service team to
    • schedule and coordinate logistics for rental activities
    • Generate quotes and work orders
    • Process all paperwork in a timely manner
    • Obtain customer documents such as proof of insurance for rental property
    • Provide document copies requested by customers
  • Assist with inventory management of rental assets
  • Provides ideas to Marketing and Sales Manager that will help grow the product line
  • Assist accounting department with gathering information to aid in payment collection
  • Seek and continuously develop knowledge and information about the products offered
  • Attend meetings and contribute to company strategy and policy-making as required
  • Attends sales seminars, sales meetings, or educational activities to stay up to date on the latest developments, trends, regulations and products in the marketplace
  • Ensure a safe working environment and safe work habits of staff
  • Achieve business and organizational goals, visions, and objectives
  • Identify problems and provide alternative courses of action
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent (college preferred)
  • 18+ years of age
  • 2+ yrs experience in sales and/or customer service desired but not high priority
    • Demonstrates the ability to carry on a business conversation with business owners and decision makers
  • Basic knowledge of the workings of diesel generators or willingness and ability to train and enhance knowledge of generators
  • Ability to get and maintain DOT medical card
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English
