The Human Resources Business Partner role partners with HR and Operations Leaders to plan and execute practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, goal attainment and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. This role directly supports the Senior VP of HR and the Director of HR Corporate and plant HR responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR support for Corporate and plant-based teams.
  • Support the Director of Compensation and Benefits with implementation and administration of all compensation and benefit programs and initiatives, including annual job pricing, annual merit and open enrollment efforts both at the corporate and plant levels.
  • Talent Management System including the key processes of recruitment, selection, development, and retention.
  • Training and Development Process from needs identification to training delivery including content development and post-training effectiveness feedback.
  • Serve as the Employee Relations advocate for employees while providing coaching and feedback.
  • Primary contact for HRIS administration and processes that provide a standardized and consistent approach to best HR practices.
  • Performance Management process to ensure timely feedback for each team member, strengths-based development initiatives and goal alignment with team, facility, and company.
  • Assist with the Succession Planning Process with appropriate leadership/management development programs and a systematic review of promotional candidate readiness.
  • Support all locations with compliance regulations at both the state and federal levels (e.g., FMLA, ADA, OSHA, etc.).
  • Oversee the administration of the policies, practices and procedures.
  • Support safety program with direct responsibility for OSHA recordkeeping, tracking metrics, training records, workers’ compensation claim management and reporting.
  • Provides coaching, training, and counseling pertaining to various aspects of human resources to local HR and leaders (e.g., performance management, sexual harassment, discrimination, diversity, legal/employment issues)
  • Maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, promotions, accidents, and training, including records with HRIS or other electronic files.
  • Educates management and employees regarding corrective actions, moves and separations to ensure complete documentation and compliance with company guidelines.
  • Collaborates with SVP and director of HR on investigation of complaints and employee relations issues and ensures findings are documented and recommendations on remedial actions are made to management, as required.
  • Maintain a positive employee relations environment and build strong relationships and rapport with the HR team, employees, and leaders to provide sound advice and counsel.
  • Advisor to plant manager and leadership team for compliance and HR guidance.

Education Requirements/Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience with 5-7 years professional human resource experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, strongly preferred.
  • HR experience with California employment practices and/or at least 1 year working in California, preferred.
  • HR certification preferred.

Computer Skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office — MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and experience with HRIS administration – Paylocity preferred.
