Our client, a well-established, internationally recognized manufacturer of passive fire protection materials, has an immediate opening for a Maintenance & Reliability Manager at its Huntington, Indiana facility.

The Maintenance & Reliability Manger has full accountability for all asset reliability and maintenance activities at the Huntington facility.

Responsibilities

  • Works with existing team members to become familiar with current operations, the current Maintenance and Reliability policies, procedures, and personnel.
  • Provides direction in technical matters to maintenance technicians and supervisory personnel
  • Leads the troubleshooting efforts with Hot and Cold End assets issues in order to maximize asset reliability and efficiency
  • Serves as subject matter expert regarding mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment – while also facilitating and leading RCAs
  • Mentors and trains maintenance technicians (new and existing) to provide increased equipment effectiveness and to ensure program sustainability
  • Conducts failure analysis on critical assets and equipment to eliminate root cause(s) of failure and develop improvements to prevent future occurrences
  • Participates in the quality assurance of new builds and modifications to assure adherence to functional specifications
  • Reviews current maintenance and reliability policies and procedures to optimize maintenance program effectiveness; develop improvements to decrease asset downtime
  • Ensures technicians have proper training, equipment, and management support to accomplish maintenance tasks safely, effectively, and on time
  • Creates, optimizes, and validates asset PM’s and PM frequencies
  • Reviews and develops spare part requirements and ensure proper stock levels of critical equipment
  • Implements and drives the discipline usage of the Computerized Maintenance Management System to optimize maintenance and reliability program effectiveness
  • Abides by company and worksite safety policies to achieve a “Safety First” workplace
  • Builds up and maintains clear communication and close co-operation with all relevant internal (plant staff, R&D and corporate engineering) and external
  • Generates and implements ideas that improve safety, quality, and cost indicators, in line with investment and plant goals
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory and management of MRO supplies
  • Ensures adherence to all Environmental, Health & Safety procedures. Overall responsibility for the safety programs that are related to maintenance and reliability functions such as lockout/tag out, confined space operations, hot work programs
  • Ensures maximum plant availability through the implementation and use of established reliability principles and optimal asset management
  • Coordinates planned maintenance and connectivity with Maintenance Managers in plant positions
  • Responsible for the overall building and facilities maintenance (Reliability, Performance, Cost)

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience or a minimum of 15 years’ experience without a degree
  • Training and/or certifications in Lean Six Sigma, RCM, Maintenance and Reliability software preferred
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 lbs.
