Bemana is searching for a Planner/Scheduler in Northbridge, MA. Our client is a dynamic, engineering-driven company whose goal is to design and produce superior products that help customers solve their needs for Packaging, Insulation and Componentry. 

This role Conducts all planning activities relative to the manufacture and/or secondary operation performance for Polyfoam products for both Northbridge and Uxbridge plants, and develops and maintains production schedules for molding, packing, and other production-related operations by performing the following duties. The incumbent is expected to be a self-starter, a good manager of time, work independently and follow standards for safety and conduct. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains a Master Production Schedule for both the Molding operation and Packing/Secondary Operation to establish sequence of operations and establish lead times to meet shipping dates determined by sales forecasts and/or customer orders. 
  • Utilizes plant capacity data and production specifications to calculate requirements relative to the resources (materials, machinery, machine hours, and labor) required to meet customer requirements. 
  • Plans and schedules workflow within each department to optimize efficiency and quality, within established manufacturing guidelines, and creates Work Orders for daily work 
  • Where applicable, negotiates manufacturing and delivery dates with sales/customer service to maximize customer satisfaction. 
  • Works closely with Production Control Manager to ensure work is flowing as scheduled, and makes adjustments when necessary to maintain commitments. 
  • Assists in supporting other functions that have a direct impact on planning and scheduling, e.g. Shipping, Purchasing, and Human Resources. 
  • Fulfill the Company’s commitment to its customers and to the Quality Management System (QMS – ISO 9001-2015), the Planner/Scheduler has the responsibility and authority to initiate action to prevent nonconformities relating to product, process, and the QMS, and to report such incidents to the appropriate entity for corrective action and resolution. 

Education Requirements/Work Experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience 
  • Prior experience directly related to planning and scheduling production in manufacturing industry 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Strong organizational/prioritization skills with an ability to multi-task to manage multiple projects while maintaining close attention to detail.
  • Proficient in ERP (NetSuite preferred) system, Microsoft Office; advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
