Bemana is looking for a Sales Manager in the Buffalo/Syracuse area to join the team of a leading Power Gen. company.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide sales coverage to achieve revenue, profit and coverage goals set by management.
- Identify opportunities for business with new engineers and contractors, develop additional business with existing accounts and maintain all accounts in good order.
- Call on and work with consulting engineers to develop specifications for generators, ATS, switchgear and other products as required.
- Contact and call on end user accounts to develop direct sales potential.
- Work with associates to develop a presence in the market where PPS becomes the preferred supplier for power systems products, rentals, parts and services.
- Understand and professionally present the products and services represented to customer.
- Develop and maintain a good relationship with customers.
- Be knowledgeable about the market, new prospects and existing accounts.
- Develop and maintain the Penn Power Systems CRM database inclusive of call reports, proposals and lost sales reports.
- Submit Projections Reports and Lost Sales Reports to Sales Manager every Friday.
- Work with Penn’s branch personnel to achieve corporate business objectives in all markets and all facets of the business.
- Provide expense reports on a timely basis to management.
- Use market information services such as ISQFT, Builder’s Exchange and others as necessary in order to specify, propose and close generator set orders.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- B.S. in a relevant field preferred or a minimum of 5-8 years’ relevant work experience
- Strong communications skills (written and verbal) ability to effectively convey vision, ideas, goals, issues
- Strong leadership skills and negotiation
- Advance working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Prior experience with client interactions
- The willingness and ability to travel (50%)
- Valid Driver’s license

- Work with consulting engineers to develop Penn Power Systems specifications
- Achieve sales goals/objectives set by the New Equipment Sales Manager.
- Maintain profitability for projects sold during the yearly sales cycle.
- Provide project / opportunity updates to Sales Manager when asked for.
- Maintain Penn Power Systems CRM System with current and accurate information.
- Responsible for all bid and spec follow up and closing of sales
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery
- Office environment 50% of the time
- Must be able to travel in a vehicle to visit customers
