SUMMARY

This position is responsible for lead generation, new business development, account retention, sales of planned maintenance agreements and time and material repairs while providing excellent customer service and maximizing profits.

JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Performs sales calls in person, over the phone, and via e-mail
  • Develops a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face cold calling, direct mail activities and networking
  • Manages selling activities so as to optimize and sustain sales performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction
    • Prepares action plans to identify specific targets and to project # of contacts to make monthly
    • Prepares presentations, proposals and sales contracts
  • Works with customers to sell, resolve problems, and answer questions
  • Seeks and continuously develops knowledge and information about competitor activity, pricing and tactics, and communicates this to relevant Company staff
    • Maximizes all opportunities in the process of closing a sale resulting in the taking of market share from competitors
  • Follows up on quotes and sells benefits of choosing company
    • Works with Service Manager on specifications and quotes
  • Provides ideas to Service Manager that will help grow the Service Department
    • Participates in marketing events
  • Records all activities in computer system; database maintenance
  • Assists accounting department with payment collection
  • Attends sales seminars, sales meetings, or educational activities to stay up to date on the latest developments, trends, regulations and products in the market place
  • Achieves business and organizational goals, visions, and objectives
  • Identifies problems and provide alternative courses of action

    EXPERIENCE

    • High School diploma or equivalent (college preferred)
    • 18+ years of age
    • 2+ yrs industry experience preferred; working knowledge of engines & electricity may be acceptable
    • 2+ yrs experience in sales desired
    • Demonstrates the ability to carry on a business conversation with business owners and decision makers
    • Able to read, analyze & interpret engineering specifications, documents & regulations
    • Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability through company insurer
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English
    • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Excellent listening skills
    • Above average math skills; able to calculate discounts, gross profit, percentages
    • Strong presentation skills and ability to influence others
    • Excellent negotiation skills
    • Capable of preserving confidential and sensitive material

    • Computer skills to include MS office products (Word, Excel, Outlook); data entry
    • Must represent the company in a positive manner at all times including a professional appearance
    • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
    • Must be able to pass background check and periodic drug screens & license checks
