We’re seeking a hands-on Shop Foreman to lead daily operations for a growing power generation team in Houston, TX. This is a high-impact leadership role supporting a small, tight-knit group of technicians, with strong visibility and the opportunity to shape processes and develop the team.
Ideal for a high-level technician turned leader, this role requires someone who can troubleshoot complex equipment while mentoring and elevating others. A well-rounded mechanical background beyond generators—such as oil & gas, heavy equipment, or industrial service—is strongly preferred.
Position Offers

Responsibilities

Oversee daily shop operations including inspection, testing, repair, and overhaul of generators and related equipment

Manage workflow, scheduling, and job prioritization to meet deadlines and customer expectations

Lead, train, and mentor technicians, serving as a hands-on technical resource for the team

Perform and support advanced troubleshooting on diesel and natural gas generator systems

Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards

Maintain quality control and ensure all work is completed accurately prior to release

Coordinate with internal teams while overseeing tools, equipment, inventory, and job documentation
Requirements

7+ years of generator experience (diesel/natural gas)

5+ years in a supervisory or lead role

Well-rounded mechanical background beyond generators (oil & gas, heavy equipment, industrial preferred)

Strong hands-on experience with major OEMs (CAT, Cummins, Kohler, MTU, Generac, etc.)

Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems

Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop technicians

Ability to read schematics and technical manuals; proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/CMMS systems (Acumatica a plus)

Physically able to work in a shop environment, including lifting up to 50 lbs and extended periods on your feet
Preferred Experience
