We are assisting a well-established family owned company with hiring a Shop Foreman to join their team!

Responsible for overseeing daily operations of technicians, painters, and general laborers to ensure productivity, quality, and safety. This role includes staff supervision, performance management, accurate job tracking, equipment and facility maintenance, and collaboration across departments to ensure smooth workflow and high customer satisfaction.

Position Offers

  • Salary of $75k-$80k + bonus (% of salary). If your target pay is higher, we still encourage you to apply—we could request adjustments based on experience and market conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise daily activities of field and shop personnel.
  • Monitor attendance, performance, attitude, and teamwork; keep written records.

  • Conduct timely performance reviews and maintain a pipeline of potential hires.

  • Recruit, coach, and, when necessary, terminate staff not meeting expectations.

  • Ensure daily time entries are accurate and billed correctly within 24 hours.

  • Eliminate non-billable hours; reduce false profit caused by inaccurate logging.

  • Review work tickets for labor and parts accuracy before final approval.

  • Coordinate with sales, project managers, and technicians to define scope and budget.

  • Adjust plans based on equipment condition and customer needs.

  • Keep internal and customer-facing notes updated and accurate.

  • Work with the parts department to ensure timely delivery of needed materials.

  • Maintain stock levels of essential non-inventory items (oil, coolant, bolts, etc.).

  • Provide weekly reports and daily updates to management on progress and issues.

  • Lead weekly safety meetings and enforce safety standards
  • Report incidents, maintain safety records, and oversee inspections (e.g., forklifts, slings).

  • Ensure scheduled maintenance for facility equipment (cranes, paint booth, etc.).

  • Keep written maintenance records and recommend replacements when needed.

Qualifications

  • Extensive hands-on mechanic experience
  • Managerial experience a plus
  • Computer Savvy
