We are recruiting a Business Development Representative for the nation’s leading provider of premium engine repair components, specializing in Original Equipment fuel systems, turbochargers, and after-treatment parts and installation kits for on-road, off-road, and marine engines.

This role will be responsible for developing new business opportunities within the Marine Business Segment by marketing manufacturing, distribution and service capabilities. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to evaluate the feasibility of potential opportunities while ensuring an increase in revenues and profits through and building upon existing business relationships.

*Expect frequent travel (50+%).

Key Departmental ResponsibilitiesPerforms market research and analysis to drive new business opportunities.

  • Establishes new customers and markets company capabilities effectively to drive new business demand.
  • Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financial and investment impacts.
  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements, developing and negotiating contracts, and integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  • Coordinates annual sales budgets/goals and operational budgets with the assistance of the Director of Sales and Marketing and monitor progress throughout the calendar year.
  • Maintain existing customers relationships and create new ones through communications that include (but not limited to) scheduled in-person visits, phone calls, emails, WebEx conferences, trade shows, and other industry events.
  • Maintain a trusted advisor relationship with key accounts by monitoring customer satisfaction and understanding customer needs.
  • Implement and make recommendations to the strategic marketing plan.
  • Assists in evaluating operational issues to improve quality and maximize efficiency of products being introduced.
  • Works with customers and internal personnel to resolve reliability, timeliness of delivery and/or quality concerns.
  • Utilize Customer Engagement, track all opportunities, leads, new customers, and customer communications.
  • Develop and maintain customer support strategy to increase customer retention.
  • Research and correct regular, advanced, and long-standing customer concerns to promote company loyalty.
  • Research and observe emerging markets and market shifts, taking advantage of opportunities by identifying potential leads and new markets.
  • Operates in and ensures conformance with the requirements of the Quality Management System.
  • Seek out ways to implement Continuous Improvement with customers, within the company, and personally.
  • Attends trade shows and various conferences to promote the Marine business and to continually garner knowledge of the Marine industry and how this can be applied to future business opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Sales expertise, product knowledge, and the ability to positively manage customer and vendor relationships is required.
  • Must have the ability to use Microsoft software including Excel, Outlook, and CRM modules.
  • Time management and organization are essential to this role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all employees to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results.
