This management role will be to support the strategic direction of the company through efficient administration of the service team. Areas of accountability include but may not be limited to management of the service department team members including day-to-day supervision, training, health & safety, and customer service interactions, reports and repairs. This role is expected to provide the highest level of customer service with a sales-minded attitude while developing lasting customer relationships.


Service Management:

  • Effectively manages team members, including technicians and advisors, to ensure team objectives and sales goals are being carried out
  • Displays extensive working knowledge of industry standards and practices, including product details and company services offered
  • Offers exemplary customer service, including maintaining customer relationships and ensuring repeat customers by upselling products and services and taking care of any customer concerns or complaints quickly and professionally
  • Assists with or performs administrative tasks
  • Develops working knowledge of industry regulations, restrictions, and laws, and ensures service department adheres to all regulations
  • Resolves service problems and improves current service methods to increase productivity and customer service
  • Monitors department issues and client complaints to define patterns and work to lessen those recurring issues
  • Regularly audits work being done and customer service being provided to ensure all standards are met and that repair work is carried out effectively, correctly, and thoroughly
  • Oversees team members performing inspections, preparing reports, and doing repairs; if necessary, carries out these job duties personally to ensure highest quality of work

Technical Training:

  • Conduct individual and team skills gap analysesDevelop technical training plans for all levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced)
  • Performance reviews of all technical staff
  • Coordinate vendor-related trainings, including presentations of new features and simulation activities in a demo environment
  • Ensure all new hires undergo basic technical training
  • Liaise with industry experts and organize workshops and classroom-style training
  • Measure improvements in employees’ job performance at the end of each training segment
  • Gather feedback from trainees and internal/external trainers and recommend suggestions to the learning process

Health & Safety:

  • Developing and executing health and safety plans according to legal guidelines
  • Preparing and enforcing policies to establish a culture of health and safety
  • Evaluating practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to regulations
  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
  • Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
  • Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
  • Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
